In my over twenty-one years of experience at the Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court office, it is estimated that I have prepared over 50,000 Mortgage, Non-Lien and UCC Certificates. A Mortgage Certificate, more correctly called a "Certificate of Non - Mortgage" often involves a great deal of "running the records;" usually just the "mortgage" records but often the "conveyance" records as well.

My years of experience and close working relationship with former Clerk of Court O. C. " Dan" Guilliot taught me a great deal about managing the office. Whether working on local or state legislation, insurance matters, or drafting correspondence for Mr. "Dan," I was given access to materials and information as well as personal access to the Clerk that very few others enjoyed. Mr. "Dan" had a genuine love for his work and his employees that he shared with me.

My few years spent in the private sector gave me new insight into working relationships with major companies such as Shell Oil, Transocean Drilling, BP, Noble Drilling and BHP Billiton. It was in this employ that I was afforded the opportunity to review existing contracts with these major companies as well as draft new ones. For the first time, these "majors" had access to password protected "warehouses of information" on the Internet. In addition the owners, managers and sales staff had access to a master database of all written proposals offered by the company.
